School of Radiologic Technology

The Columbus Regional Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, located in Columbus, Indiana is a hospital-based training program in radiologic technology. Radiologic Technology involves creating diagnostic images of the body for interpretation by a physician. Students accepted into the program attend on a full-time basis for 24 months and receive both classroom and clinical instruction. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a certificate as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Imaging Science degree from Ivy Tech Community College. This allows them to take the registry examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Passing this examination allows the graduate to seek employment as a registered radiologic technologist and to use the designation R.T(R).

Accreditation

The Columbus Regional Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is currently accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) for a period of 5 (five) years. JRCERT promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs.

In supporting the above mission statement, Columbus Regional Hospital School of Radiologic Technology strives to prepare graduates who are competent for entry-level positions in radiography through attainment of the following goals:
