Our Hospice of South Central Indiana proudly announces that Yacht Rock Revue, featuring Columbus locals, Nicholas Niespodziani and Peter Olson, will perform the traditional summer concert as a virtual concert on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 7:00 PM. The live concert will be streamed on the Our Hospice Facebook page www.facebook.com/ourhospice.

“We are very excited that even as we recover from the unexpected stressful times everywhere, we will continue our much anticipated, traditional Labor Day Weekend Concert only to be held in an untraditional but fun and exciting way this year,” said Laura Leonard, Our Hospice President. “The need for high-quality, palliative and end of life care is more important than ever and the annual concert is our largest fundraiser of the year. We rely on the generosity of our communities to support us as a local, not-for-profit, and our concert team has come up with some unique ways to participate and celebrate the 34th annual free concert. We are looking forward to our first virtual concert and proud to be featuring two of Columbus’ very talented individuals!”

Yacht Rock Revue will bring a live show to your home with an evening of smooth songs from the 70’s and 80’s. This top-notch group of musicians has already rocked onstage with John Oates, Eddie Money (RIP), and both versions of the band Player. They’ve trademarked the term “yacht rock,” both metaphorically and literally (U.S. Registration Number 3834195). From humble beginnings in a basement, to touring in partnership with Live Nation and Sirius XM, they now headline sold-out shows across the country, from Webster Hall in New York to the Wiltern in L.A.

Yacht Rock Revue’s first original record is ten songs inspired by the smooth sounds of the Seventies and Eighties. They’ve brazenly titled it Hot Dads In Tight Jeans – forgive them for bragging, but that’s what they are – and it returns Yacht Rock Revue to their roots in original music. The band has been featured in Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, CNN, and the Indy Star.

The local connection, Nicholas Niespodziani and Peter Olson, met in the fourth grade in Columbus, Indiana, went on to Indiana University in the late nineties, and formed the band Y-O-U before launching Yacht Rock Revue. “We are excited to have this local connection for this year’s concert,” said Leonard.

There is plenty of time to get your captain’s hat and start planning your own Yacht Rock Revue (YRR) Home Virtual Party, so start following Our Hospice on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ourhospice) NOW to learn more about the concert, giveaways for your home viewing party, and how to win $10,000!

“In times like these, now more than ever, the communities, patients and families we serve need us to continue our work and strengthen our mission To Make Every Moment Count. We are thankful to YRR members for their partnership in helping us make our summer concert an event that our communities can enjoy as we raise funds to further our mission,” said Leonard. This year’s concert is presented by Faurecia and Columbus Regional Health; we are grateful for their on-going support.
